UI/UX Designer

About Enrola

Enrola is an early-stage start-up on a mission to help people find and enrol in the best education for their needs and circumstances.

We’ve been hard at work building our course advisor platform, which allows users to get personalised course recommendations, easily compare their best options, and apply to enrol online. In less than six months since Enrola has been live, we’ve seen strong traction with both students and education providers, and we are well on our way to finding product-market fit.

Yet, there’s so much more to do, and we’re growing our team to make it happen.

Enrola is a remote-first team: all of our team members work remotely and are currently distributed throughout Australia. We embrace the advantages of being an all-remote company and have established clear ways of working that are core to our values.

Speaking of values, while we hold many, we emphasise six practical values that reflect our priorities: (1) deliver results, (2) be transparent, (3) take ownership, (4) iterate fast, (5) do more with less, and (6) foster inclusion and diversity.

As a small team, we’re keen to grow with people who share our values and ways of working.

About The Role

We’re seeking a talented and driven UI/UX designer to dive into the world of students, education enrolment, course recommendation and comparison.

As one of our first employees, you’ll be stepping into a role to take full ownership of UI/UX design and will be working directly with the founders in a cross functional team of marketing, sales and tech. You will have broad responsibility for design of the user experience, encompassing our course recommendation and enrolment platform (core product), landing pages and public website.

It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role where your work will make a real impact on the business.

Core Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as a UI/UX/Product designer.
  • Strong portfolio of past projects.
  • Fluent in common design tools, like Figma.
  • A love of collecting product metrics, measuring outcomes, A/B testing and iterative design.
  • Experience designing responsive, web-based applications.
  • Pragmatic and problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong communication skills in reading/writing.

Nice To Have

  • HTML / CSS skills. If you can convert to or design directly in HTML/CSS, that’s a big plus!
  • Experience with one or more low-code website or landing page builders (Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Hubspot, etc)
  • Experience with product metric tools, like Posthog.
  • Conversion rate optimization (CRO) qualification/experience.
  • Experience working for a start-up / fast-growing company.
  • Experience working in a remote-first environment.

Why You Should Join Us!

There are so many great reasons to join us! But here are some of the top reasons that might make us stand-out from the pack:

  • Make a Real Impact: As one of our first employees, your work will truly matter and directly shape our company's future. You'll see the tangible results of your efforts and know that your contributions are not just noticed, but celebrated.
  • Remote-First Work Environment: Do you thrive in a remote-first work environment? All of our staff work remotely and are currently distributed around Australia. We have a strong remote-first work culture and are hiring nationally and internationally.
  • Flexible Working Hours:  We’re very open and flexible to discussing what work schedule works for you. This includes the option to work part-time or reduced hours. Whilst we’re flexible about what your work schedule will be, we do expect a level of consistency once the schedule is agreed.
